GAA | Limerick receive 15 All-Star nominations

All 15 players to start the All-Ireland final for Limerick have been nominated for All-Stars.

The Treaty County ended a 45-year drought when they beat Galway in this year’s final, after one of the most exciting hurling Championships in history.

Galway have nine nominations, Cork have seven, while Kilkenny and Clare have five each.

Dublin, Tipperary, and Wexford have two nominations apiece.

Limerick star Cian Lynch has been shortlisted for the Hurler of the Year award alongside Galway duo Joe Canning – who won the award last year – and Padraig Mannion.

Lynch was a key player at midfield for Limerick, while Galway defender Mannion enjoyed another excellent campaign at wing-back for the Tribesmen.

Canning was superb in the Championship, scoring 1-10 in the final and 2-78 overall in 10 games. Micheál Donoghue’s men.

Kyle Hayes, who was superb in the final for Limerick, is joined by Cork stars Mark Coleman and Darragh Fitzgibbon  for the Young Hurler of the Year award.
