Irish welterweight Katelynn Phelan has produced a stunning TKO victory against Jessica Schadko to claim three minor world titles in Munich.
The 20-year-old has claimed the WBC youth title, as well as the WBF and WIBA belts, extending her perfect professional record to four wins at the CPI Gym in Donauwouerth.
Kildare native Phelan dominated the fight from the outset, backing her experienced German opponent up on the ropes, and causing Schadko (now 8-1) to retire in her corner before the start of the sixth round.
Phelan, who is trained by Niall Barrett and promoted by Boxing Ireland, was comfortably ahead on the judges' scorecards (40-36, 40-36 and 39-37) at the time of Schadko's retirement.
Barrett had predicted a Phelan stoppage, and she followed her trainer's game plan perfectly in Bavaria.
The Irish boxer made her professional debut in 'Clash of The Titans' in March 2019 and stepped up to fight 19-year-old Schadko in her own back yard after the German's initial opponent Valentina Keri pulled out.
Phelan proved more than able for the step up, and has now made waves in the women's welterweight division.
