Aston Villa have sacked manager Steven Gerrard.
Gerrard, who guided the club to a 14th-placed finish last season after replacing Dean Smith in November, has been relieved of his duties following Villa's 3-0 defeat to Fulham on Thursday.
“We would like to thank Steven for his hard work and commitment and wish him well for the future,” a club spokesman said.
Villa are 17th in the Premier League, having won just two league matches this season, collecting just nine points from their opening 11 matches.
Goals from Harrison Reed and Aleksandar Mitrović, as well as a Tyrone Mings own goal, gave Fulham a comfortable 3-0 win over Gerrard's side at Craven Cottage.
Villa also had midfielder Douglas Luiz sent off midway through the second half.
"I'm a fighter - it's in my DNA," Gerrard told BBC's Match of the Day after the game.
"I'll continue to fight unless I'm told differently."
