Everton have confirmed the appointment of Frank Lampard as the club's new manager on a two-and-a-half year deal.
Lampard, who has managed Derby County and Chelsea, replaces Rafael Benitez at Goodison Park. The former England and Chelsea midfielder beat off competition from Duncan Ferguson and Vitor Pereira for the role.
The 43-year-old has been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea in January 2021 during his second season in charge of the London club.
Everton have been on a wretched run of form which has seen the Toffees collect just one win from their last 13 matches. The Merseyside club are 16th in the Premier League table, just four points clear of the relegation zone.
Lampard's first game in the dugout will be next Sunday's FA Cup fourth-round tie at home to Brentford.
Paul Clement will be Lampard's assistant manager.
