Republic of Ireland international Jack Byrne will miss the rest of the season due to a back injury.
The APOEL Nicosia midfielder, who has missed the last five games with the Cypriot club, will undergo surgery on a herniated disc.
"Jack Byrne will undergo surgery in the afternoon to deal with a disc problem, the estimated recovery time is determined at 3 months," APOEL said today.
Byrne, 24, will now also miss the Boys in Green's World Cup 2022 qualifiers later this month.
Stephen Kenny's side will face both Serbia and Luxembourg in their opening World Cup qualifiers.
