Rugby | Easterby names Ireland's Six Nations squad

Leinster prop Jack Boyle is the only uncapped player in Ireland's 36-man squad for the 2025 Guinness Six Nations.

Ireland will be captained by Caelan Dorris and managed by interim head coach Simon Easterby for the tournament, with Andy Farrell busy preparing for the British and Irish Lions' tour in Australia this summer.

James Lowe and Dan Sheehan, who are both currently injured, have both been named in the squad, while Hugh Cooney, Ben Murphy, James McNabney and Cathal Forde have been listed as developmental players.

"The Guinness Six Nations is one of the most keenly contested competitions in the global calendar and there’s great excitement across the playing group and coaching team for this year’s tournament," Easterby told the Irish Rugby website.

"Personally, I’m hugely excited to work with a talented group and speaking to the players you can sense that they are up for the challenge.

"One of the highlights from the recent Autumn Nations Series was the emergence of a number of new internationals in Thomas Clarkson, Cormac Izuchukwu, Gus McCarthy and Sam Prendergast.

"We are also delighted to welcome back a number of players who were unavailable for the recent Autumn Nations Series and their return will further boost competition levels across the panel."

Ireland will kick off the tournament on February 1st with a clash against England at the Aviva Stadium, before successive away fixtures against Scotland and Wales. Ireland will host France in Dublin in Round 5, before travelling to Rome to take on Italy in their final match on St. Patrick's Day weekend.
